One of my favorite social networking platforms is LinkedIn.
Have you recently been scrambling to get all your profiles up on a variety of online networking platforms? If not, it might be a good time to start.
Most of us start with very basic information on our profiles, which is fine, especially when just starting out. It gives you a chance to secure your personal or business name before someone else does, and you can always go back and edit it later on.
One social media platform that has been working well for me is LinkedIn. This is the case because my business is really about serving other businesses. Since LinkedIn is a Professional Network, where businesses go to connect, it has proven to be a really good place to be.
As you probably already know, keywords are important to your success in showing up online. Keywords are important when you are optimizing your website, but they are equally, if not more important, when updating your profiles.
Here are three places to consider adding your keywords in your LinkedIn profile:
- Your Professional Headline – be more specific than “Owner of XYZ company”
- Summary – Professional Experience and Goals – include keywords when describing the skills and services, you and/or your company have provided in the past and your goals moving forward.
- Summary – Specialties – this is a good place make sure you use your keywords when describing the different services that you specialize in.
If you use the tips about you should see an increase in the number of people who have viewed your profile.
Be sure to come back and share your success!
Happy networking,
